Flight Maps

The flight map for each day's flight is made available as soon as possible after a flight - at the latest at the end of the month in which the flight occurs.

From 2009, cloud seeding operations occur from 28 April to 31 October. In prior years the season was from 1 April to 30 November. Hydro Tasmania reduced the season by almost two months following extensive stakeholder consultation.

Reading the map

Blue lines indicate the flight path of the cloud seeding aircraft when not seeding. The red lines mark the cloud seeding flight path.

The seeding track is located 1/2 hour upwind from the target area. The location depends on wind direction and wind speed at seeding altitude on the day.

2010 maps will be published here as soon as possible after the seeding flights.
